Half-day + Extended-day Care
2026-27 Half-day Preschool
Half-day Preschool offers families a choice of three or five half-day classes per week for children ages 3-5. Half-day school-year program runs from September to June and are located in Hopkins elementary schools and Harley Hopkins Family Center. Limited tuition assistance is available. View our income eligibility scale to see if your family qualifies.
Hopkins Preschool reserves the right to shift student registrations between similar classes (days, student age, and times identical) during the first three weeks of school. This may happen in order to balance the class composition, or to ensure adult/student ratios are similar across classes.
2026-27 Extended-day Care Options
Extended Day is offered to families of children ages 3 or 4 by September 1, 2026. This program provides child care as an extension of the 4-hour 5-day/week preschool day. Additional information provided via the sidebar, or click here.
Transportation
Transportation may be available for Preschool classes for students who are 4-years-old by September 1, 2026 and will attend 4-year-old classes at Alice Smith, Eisenhower, Gatewood, Glen Lake, and Tanglen.
Families must reside within the bussing zone of the elementary school in which they are enrolled for preschool in order to qualify for transportation. Please use this Bussing Zones map to identify your neighborhood elementary school. All transportation department policies and procedures apply to preschool bussing (including No Bus Zones). Harley Hopkins Family Center provides bussing for ECSE students only.

Families in our Early Childhood Special Education program will work directly with our ECSE office for registration and do not need to register online until instructed.
All registrations are time-stamped when submitted, spaces are limited. Contracts will be finalized after our verification process, which may take up to two weeks to confirm. Please make sure to list your second- and third-class options within the enrollment questions. Please note that all finalized contracts without tuition assistance will be charged a one month deposit and the non-refundable registration fee of $30.00; the deposit will be utilized on the last month of attendance. Extended-Day preschool registration is a separate contract and opened on February 23, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. for enrollment. Extended-Day options are only available to extend the four-hour five-day classes and to scholars that are age 3 or 4 by September 1st, 2026.
Non-School Day contracts, which are exclusively available for confirmed Extended-Day Preschool registered families, opens for registration on June 1, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Please note contracts will be finalized after our verification process, which may take up to two weeks to finalize.

Extended-Day Care Options
Extended-day care is offered to families with children ages 3 or 4 by September 1, 2026 who have been accepted into a 4-hour, 5 day a week class. This is an additional contract, and an additional parent fee.
The extended-day program follows the preschool calendar and is offered on each day that a 4 hour Preschool class is running. Extended-day is offered at all elementary sites as well as at Harley Hopkins Family Center. Hours vary by site:
- Morning care, 7:00-8:00 a.m., is offered at Harley
- Morning care 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. is offered at Meadowbrook
- Morning care, 7:00-9:30 a.m. is offered at Gatewood
- Afternoon care from the end of the four hour class until the end of the school day:
- Until 2:10 at Eisenhower, Tanglen and Glen Lake Elementary Schools
- Until 3:30 at Harley Hopkins Family Center
- Until 4:00 at Meadowbrook, Alice Smith, and Gatewood
- Evening care from end of the school day until 5pm at Eisenhower, Tanglen, Gatewood
- Evening care until 6pm at Meadowbrook and Harley
Students in extended day programming may move between classrooms as part of their daily schedule. For example, at the end of the preschool day, they may move to another classroom for lunch and rest time.
Please note: Extended-day care is exclusively available to those enrolled in a four-hour, five-day / week preschool class. Please note that all finalized contracts without tuition assistance will be charged a $100.00 deposit that will be utilized towards the last month of attendance. Non-School Day
Non School Day Preschool
These days of care are available only to families who have registered for our Extended Day Preschool program.
Registration for Non-School Day care, exclusively for those enrolled in Extended Day Preschool, for 2026-27 opens June 1, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.
We are excited to offer these days of care as individual registrations, allowing families to choose and pay for only the days they need. Students enrolled in Extended Day at any of our 7 locations (6 elementaries and Harley Hopkins) are eligible for Non School Day (NSD) care. However, our NSD Days are located only at Meadowbrook Elementary and Harley Hopkins Family Center.
The Non-School days contract is a separate contract from the school year contract. The deadline to register for non-school days is the 15th of the prior month. Contracts will be approved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Enrollees who register for the non-school day are responsible for payment unless written notification (email is sufficient notice) of cancellation is received in the billing office at least two weeks (14 days) prior to the non-school day. A $20 fee per child will be charged for each change or cancellation. Those who register after the deadline and get approved will be charged at a higher rate.
Important Considerations for Non School Day Care Registration:

Families will provide meals and a snack from home during these Non School Days, although our programs will also have some basic snacks available.

Our NSD registration locations will be listed as Harley or Meadowbrook - we reserve the right to reduce location availability to one site if registrations are low for a particular Non School Day. We will let you know if there are location changes a minimum of 48 hours before the day of care. The hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The daily rate for Non School Day Care is $50. If you access Early Learning Scholarships, this rate might be covered, please check with your caseworker or your award paperwork.
