Extended-day care is offered to families with children ages 3 or 4 by September 1, 2026 who have been accepted into a 4-hour, 5 day a week class. This is an additional contract, and an additional parent fee. 

The extended-day program runs follows the preschool calendar and is offered on each day that a 4 hour Preschool class is running. Extended-day is offered at all elementary sites as well as at Harley Hopkins Family Center. Hours vary by site:

• Morning care, 7:00-8:00 a.m., is offered at Harley 
• Morning care, 7:00-9:00 a.m. is offered at Meadowbrook
• Morning care, 7:00-9:30 a.m. is offered at Gatewood 
• Afternoon care from the end of the four hour class until the end of the school day:
  • Until 2:10 at Eisenhower, Tanglen and Glen Lake Elementary Schools
  • Until 3:30 at Harley Hopkins Family Center
  • Until 4:00 at Meadowbrook, Alice Smith, and Gatewood
•  Evening care from end of the school day until 5pm at Eisenhower, Tanglen, Gatewood 
•  Evening care until 6pm at Meadowbrook and Harley

Students in extended day programming may move between classrooms as part of their daily schedule. For example, at the end of the preschool day, they may move to another classroom for lunch and rest time. 

Please note: Extended-day care is exclusively available to those enrolled in a four-hour, five-day / week preschool class.
