Become a Mentor
Are you a kind, compassionate person interested in giving back to your community? Consider becoming a mentor for a Hopkins High School student! Many high school students could benefit from your perspectives and life experience.
What kind of commitment does the program require?
- Meet with your student virtually or in person
- Some students would meet during "Opportunity Hour," a class that takes place during the following time frames: 7:55-9:05 a.m., 9:10-10:20 a.m., 12:10-1:20 p.m., 1:25-2:35 p.m.
- Schedules will vary on your availability and needs of the student(s)
Every individual is unique, so some students may need a more hands-on approach. Others may need to "check-and-connect" less frequently. All mentors will be asked to attend a brief training and complete a background check before working with students. The training sessions are facilitated by a professional and may be offered virtually.
Fill out this form if you are interested in beginning the process. Someone will reach out to you with next steps.
Family Involvement
Parents are one of the most important factors for a child's successful school year. Staff are available to work with parents, teachers, and community groups to increase and strengthen involvement in children's learning.
Parents are encouraged to be involved with programs and activities at their school. There are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities — let us help you get involved in our schools!
