What is a Parent Advisory Council?

Parent advisory councils create a supportive space for caregivers to come together around shared interests and experiences focused on ways to support and sustain student academic and social-emotional success. They serve as bridges between families, schools, and the broader community, fostering collaboration and empowerment.

What Do Parent Advisory Councils Do?

Our parent advisory councils are dedicated to increasing parent and family involvement in their children's education through effective communication and leadership development. They serve as advocates for all families within our district, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and valued.

By attending a Parent Advisory Council meeting, you can:

1. Connect with other parents and community leaders: Parent advisory council meetings provide a welcoming environment for parents and guardians to connect, share experiences, and build relationships with other members of the community who are passionate about education.

2. Provide input concerning school district-related issues: Your voice matters. Parent advisory council meetings offer a platform for you to share your insights, concerns, and suggestions regarding various aspects of our school district, from curriculum to policies.

3. Make recommendations in support of enhancing learning opportunities and environments: Together, we can strive for continuous improvement. Parent advisory council members have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at enhancing learning opportunities and creating supportive environments for all students.

4. Advocate for issues vital to the success of schools, youth, and families in their community: Our parent advisory councils serve as advocates for issues that are vital to the success of schools, youth, and families in our community. Through collaborative efforts, we can work towards positive change and inclusive practices.
